K-Pack
A K-Pack is presumably an explosive device used by the armed forces of the Pacific Zone or its adversaries; unexploded ordnance is apparently a significant problem in some areas of the Zone. The meaning of the “K” in ”K-Pack” is unknown.

Part propaganda, part public safety announcement, the coloring book pages in Maggie Maddox’s folder offer a fascinating look at the Pacific Zone’s approach toward young people. It is unknown whether the pages seen here were supplied as part of Maggie Maddox’s school curriculum, but their discovery alongside her third-grade worksheets gives this impression.

Separatists
The drawing here refers to the Pacific Zone’s scorched-earth campaign against insurgents along the Colorado River border with the Southwestern Zone. From the very establishment of the border in NE09 the PZ fought to hold onto territory as thousands of residents on the west side of the river threatened to break away and merge with the SWZ.

Mask
Reminiscent of air raid drills in the United States of the 1950s, the image here – of a young girl putting on a gas mask – drives home the unique threats facing residents in the Pacific Zone.
